I've seen some posts on modifying cat /etc/network/interfaces but that file only lists the loopback adapter, not the ALFA USB. Kali appears to recognize the ALFA USB adapter but I just can't figure out how to get it to connect. How do I permanently disable WLAN0 (the built-in adapter)? I tried sudo ifconfig wlan down but that resets after a reboot.Do I need to or how do I update the drivers for the adapter first?.I looked at the ALFA website for drivers but they list several files with no instructions on what to do (here: ). I have a laptop with a built-in adapter that I want to disable entirely and replace with the ALFA USB adapter instead.

New to Linux, I'm very confused with how setting up a network adapter is done and am therefore unable to install this adapter on Kali 2020.3.
